UNBOXING:The unboxing experience feels professional, and you can tell pretty quickly by the heavy-grade cardboard used that Rythflo understands didn't cheap out at this price point. The case is a welcome inclusion as well and has been great for throwing into a backpack! It's made of a more firm mold, so I'd feel safe even if I dropped the case with the headphones inside.INITIAL IMPRESSIONS:At first, I was worried that the headphones might not fit very well on my larger head. However, after using them for a few weeks, I can confidently say that the fit was fine and comfortable. I never felt like they were going to fall off in any of the situations I used them in. This seems to be one of the rare cases where "one size fits all" is actually true! I was slightly disappointed by the minor English flubs present in the manual, but given that it doesn't impact the product itself and was still readable I can live with it.LISTENING EXPERIENCE:I've been comparing these headphones against both a regular set of TWS earbuds, and a more pro-grade over-ear set using a DAC. This has been said again and again, but audio quality is simply not a strong point of bone conduction technology. I noticed right away that songs tend to sound more washed out, and the bass is quite weak. That said, the vocals and treble come in surprisingly clearly for a bone conduction set. I've tested these with podcasts, and that seems to really be their strongest point. Other than those unavoidable issues, I've been pretty pleased with the sound quality once my expectations were tempered. These can get quite loud, though of course at very high volumes you're going to run into sound leakage (where other people around you can start to hear your music). These aren't magic - the sound waves going into your skull will always bounce off some amount just due to physics. However, I found that around 40% volume was loud enough that I could enjoy my music while still being quiet enough to not be a bother to somebody next to me. Overall, I'm pleased with the good-enough sound quality given the very long battery life!OFFLINE LISTENING:Surprisingly, the feature that I most enjoyed is one that isn't advertised that much! These headphones come with the ability to store up to 32GB of audio locally, no Bluetooth connection required. In today's world, it's almost impossible to leave your phones at home. But after I figured out how to get some of my favorite MP3s and FLACs onto the headphones over USB, all I had to do was press the middle button three times and I was able to listen to music without my phone! This has been a huge relief for whenever I can't or simply don't want to use my phone for music, like while on a run. The audio quality seemed to be the same or even slightly better than the Bluetooth stream. I only wish there were more music management options like shuffling on device (to its credit, it does keep track of your location on the master playlist through power cycles), but given that this is a bonus feature, I can't knock on it too much!CHARGING/WATER RESISTANCEI really appreciate the choice to go with a magnetic charger over something like MicroUSB. In my experience with long-use earbud-headphone hybrids, a magnetic charger is always better in terms of durability, ease of use, and water resistance. Speaking of water resistance, these headphones performed as expected in the two times I've tried running with them in the rain. After drying them off, I had no issues with charging whatsoever. I also took them swimming briefly once, and while I didn't use them for a long period of time, I was happy to see that they hadn't suffered any issues.EARPLUGSThe earplugs are somewhat of a mixed bag. They are made out of a very pliable type of plastic so they fit into my ears very well, but I wished that they had done more to cancel out noise. When paired with the earbuds, I found that I was almost unable to hear my surroundings but I could still hear a little bit. For some this might be seen as a plus, so it depends on your needs! On the plus side, they are ridiculously easy to clean after I let junk accumulate in my ear before a run.LED LIGHT BARThe LED light bar was a little bit of a letdown. While I was excited to test it at night for visibility while running, the light bar is almost a distraction because I haven't found a way to allow it to stay on a single color. Instead, the light bar cycles through blue, red, green, dark blue, yellow, and purple with each color only staying on for ~0.5 seconds. This is something I suspect could be fixed quite easily, so please read the latest reviews to see if this has changed.TL;DR-Positives:• Durable and premium feel• Case included• Comfortable fit• Wide volume range, solid mids, and clear treble• 32GB of local music storage that actually works!• Magnetic chargerNegatives:• The earplugs: not the best material.• The LED light bar: no way to stop the colors from cycling.• Some grammar errors were present in the manual.• ...
